Aleigh moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to attend California Institute of the Arts.  In January 2013, Aleigh met Hollywood music producer and mogul, Andrew Lane.  When Mr. Lane heard Aleigh’s voice, he immediately signed her to his label.  “Aleigh will be one of those artists who will stand the test of time…her voice is a voice that will change the music industry,” commented Lane.  When he asked Aleigh what she wanted to do with her music first, she immediately thought of writing a song for her sister, Nicole, who passed away at the age of 16 in an automobile accident.

The inspiring first single “You’re Still Here” shows off Aleigh’s skillful, personal songwriting as one of several songs on the album she co-wrote with Lane.  It is a deeply emotional piece and was difficult, at first, to put into words.  It wasn’t until Aleigh took a road trip home for a few days that she could even consider how to capture the spirit of her sister.  She sat alone for many hours in a comfortable and safe place which allowed her to remember and relive the memories and feelings she had about her sister.  The experience not only helped her with the words for the song but it facilitated her healing process and coming to a place of peace with her sister’s death.  When she returned to the studio, she wrote the song in about 30 minutes.  The words, through many tears, poured out of her.

Andrew Lane is a pop-hip hop-R&B songwriter and record producer. He was born in San Diego, California.

Lane has worked with artists such as Backstreet Boys and Irene Cara. As a producer and songwriter, Lane has received gold and platinum accreditations for his work. He also worked on the platinum-accredited records High School Musical Disneymania 4 , and Manny Fresh.
