Through trial and error — and extensive use of the Internet — the quick-thinking lead character Robin must learn to carefully navigate a now-unfamiliar city and vastly different culture. She soon begins to unravel some mysteries from long ago, witnessing her changes as they ripple through time... sometimes to disastrous effect. The segments in history were extensively researched, and the author drew upon the information from hundreds of newspapers, along with books, magazines and photographs original to the era. Price says, “I spent at least twice as much time immersing myself in the past as I did actually writing about it, just so I could paint a vivid portrait of daily life in the city all those years ago.” At 400 pages, Dream of Time combines elements of science fiction, historical fiction, romance, mystery and chick-lit, giving the title what reviewers describe as considerable cross-genre appeal. And while its themes are geared toward adults, the book is PG-rated, steering clear of overt sexual situations.
