Robin Pope Safaris Circuit (new itinerary)

One of the world’s seven natural wonders, One of Africa’s most spectacular sanctuaries, One of the world’s largest lakes

July 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Combine Zambia’s Victoria Falls and South Luangwa National Park with Lake Malawi’s Nankumba Peninsula in a new safari trip

A new expedition, the ten-night RPS Circuit, delivers these wonders in one all-encompassing safari.

The Falls - begin in Livingstone, where the magnificent Victoria Falls – the world’s greatest sheet of falling water – crash thunderously into the Zambezi River. Spend three nights at Stanley Safari Lodge, a unique ten-room lodge three kilometres from the Falls. Its hill-top location affords beautiful views of the distant spray, the mighty Zambezi and sublime sunsets. Chill out in the lodge or consider a plethora of activities - from white water rafting and walking with lions to bungee jumping, microlighting, lunching on Livingstone Island and sundown cruising.

The Sanctuary - fly out of Livingstone to Mfuwe and transfer to the South Luangwa National Park, home to one of the finest collections of wildlife in Africa. Stay at the intimate, five-suite Luangwa River Camp (three nights) located amid an ancient ebony grove on the banks of the meandering Luangwa River. The area is rich in game including hippo, leopard and buffalo, lion, giraffe and elephant - plus over 450 bird species. Go on a walking safari and game drive, and experience a nocturnal excursion. After a day of activities, sit by the plunge pool, relax in the reading area or potter about a local village.

The Lake - on day seven, take a 1 hour flight from Mfuwe to Malawi’s Lilongwe and transfer to the Nankumba Peninsula on the southern edge of Lake Malawi, known as the ‘Lake of Stars’. The size of Ireland, it is one of the world’s most bio-diverse bodies of water: clean, clear and warm – perfect for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, sailing and kayaking. Home for four nights is the Pumulani  Lodge, with ten individually-styled villas set in the hillside. Float in the infinity pool overlooking the sparkling lake, chill out on Pumulani’s own 40ft traditional wooden dhow, go bird-watching or simply bliss out on the beach.

The RPS Circuit is available from April to November and costs from £2,916 pp (two sharing) including full board accommodation at Stanley Safari Lodge (three nights), Luangwa River Camp (three nights), Pumulani (four nights), laundry, activities (except motorised water sports), airport meet and greet in Mfuwe and Lilongwe, transfers and domestic flights. Excludes international flights, airport taxes, gratuities and visa fees where applicable.
