Voyages Jules Verne launches latest edition of World of Wonders. Cultural tour temptation from four-night escapes to three-week ‘see-it-all’ itineraries

July 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Renowned for its global selection of small group escorted tours, Voyages Jules Verne has just launched the latest edition of its popular World of Wonders brochure. Covering departures until December 2014, World of Wonders features an array of appealing itineraries – spanning Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and The Americas – including several that appear in the brochure for the first time:

In EUROPE...

•   Impressions of the Seine: This idyllic seven-night river journey takes travellers from Paris to the coast of Normandy on board vessels from the impressive CroisiEurope fleet. Prior to embarkation, enjoy an optional panoramic tour and evening cabaret in the French capital (bookable locally) before settling into a comfortable cabin and preparing for excursions that include the Claude Monet Foundation in Giverny, a guided tour of Caudebec-en-Caux and its spectacular abbey, a visit to the ‘Côte Fleurie’, Trouville and Deauville that includes a Calvados tasting, and escorted visits to Honfleur, Rouen and the Château de Martainville. Price is from £1,245 pp*. An Early Booking Offer is available on 2014 bookings made before 15 December 2014. No Single Supplement places (subject to availability) on 18 April & 23 July 2014 departures.

•   Venice from the Inside: Complementing Voyages Jules Verne’s much-loved ‘Venice from the Water’ itinerary, this three-night sojourn offers first-time and repeat visitors alike the chance to experience one of the world’s most iconic cities from its very heart. Staying in a four-star hotel on the waterfront close to St Mark’s Square, the trip features guided tours of all the ‘must-see’ sights and a visit by vaporetto to Venice’s finest palace, the ‘House of Gold’. Tickets for Museo Correr, the Archaeological Museum, the National Library of St. Mark’s, and the Accademia and Palazzo Grimani are also included, as is a three-day vaporetto pass and ample time for independent exploration. Price is from £645 pp*.

•   Coastal Norway & the Northern Lights: With NASA predicting a second ‘solar peak’ of the Northern Lights that’s set to continue into 2014, now is certainly the time to book that trip-of-a-lifetime to try and catch a glimpse. This four-night Hurtigruten cruise gives passengers an excellent chance of spotting the Aurora Borealis as it crosses the Arctic Circle from Tromsø to Bergen, the vessel’s shallow hull making it possible to sail the sheltered waters between islands and even into fjords. Ashore, enjoy pottering around the fishing town of Kristiansund, explore the wooden houses of Molde or take an optional guided walking tour (additional cost) of historic Trondheim. Price is from £945 pp*.

•   Crimea to Kiev: Equally as appealing to world history enthusiasts as it is to those who simply love exploring a different destination, this seven-night, two-centre tour to Ukraine blends visits to the palaces, battle sites and gardens of Crimea with two nights in the historic capital, Kiev – where delightful tree-lined boulevards, wooded city parks and a fascinating cave monastery await. Escorted excursions include city tours of Yalta and Kiev, visits to Sevastapol and several Crimean War sites, the Pushkin and Chekhov museums, and wine tasting at the internationally-acclaimed Massandra winery. Price is from £1,095 pp*.

In AFRICA...

•   Morocco from the Inside: From the Atlas Mountains to the Atlantic, this week-long journey through magical Morocco features characterful accommodation in unique locations: the small, intimate Angsana Riads, set within the walls of Marrakech’s bustling medina; Dar Imlil, a superbly-restored riad on the outskirts of Imlil (for a small supplement, clients can choose to upgrade to the Kasbah du Toubkal, a spectacular mountain retreat near Imlil that was originally built by the dictator, Caid); and, in the ancient port city of Essaouira, the deluxe Hotel Essaouira Medina & Spa.. Price is from £995 pp*.

In ASIA...

•   The Palace on Wheels: Experience rail travel in the style once enjoyed by India’s Maharajas on a stylish seven-night journey through Rajasthan, enjoying top-notch service, fine international cuisine served in two lavish restaurant cars, and a VIP reception at train stations along the route. This lavish itinerary also includes excursions to Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur, a morning game drive in Ranthambore National Park, a visit to the bird sanctuary at Keoladeo National Park and an unforgettable trip to see Agra’s Red Fort and the Taj Mahal. The nine-night holiday (one night flying) also features a stay at Delhi’s impressive five-star Grand Hotel and a city tour. Price is from £2,995 pp*.

*According to the itinerary selected, prices are based on two sharing and include air travel and taxes, transfers, accommodation, some meals, a sightseeing programme and the services of guides and local representatives. On certain tours, No Single Supplement places are available (selected departure dates only).
