By: Consortium-Media Shultz’s group exhibitions have made him a star attraction. His collectors include celebrities such as Larry King, Ryan Seacrest, and Dr. Drew Pinsky. While fine arts and crafts are displayed on the lawn, the sidewalks provide a canvas for approximately 25 street chalk artists. Creating chalk art since 1998, local artist Alice Crittenden has participated in festivals in numerous California cities, as well as Florida, Colorado, Texas, Germany and Mexico. She has been a participating chalk artist in Arts in the Park since 2011 when Executive Director Barbara Hinton decided to add chalk art to the festival. Crittenden says that Arts in the Park is in a fantastic location and that the view, live music and art create a wonderful atmosphere. A limited number of chalk art squares are available for sponsorship by companies or individuals and will feature the sponsor’s name. All proceeds from sponsorships will benefit FOOD Share, Ventura County’s regional food bank that serves more than 74,500 individuals per month. Admission to the event is free. Sponsorships can be purchased through FOOD Share. For questions or sponsorship information, please contact Jordan Brown at FOOD Share at (805) 983-7100 ext. 129.
