Follow on Google News | Dr Pourgol Invited by Ontario Ministry to Discuss How to Improve EconomyDr Shahin Pourgol, president of National Academy of Osteopathy & National University of Medical Sciences has been invited by Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities for a day long discussion on how to improve Ontario's economy.
By: National Academy of Osteopathy Currently the Ontario Student Assistant Plan (OSAP) which offers loans to students is going through crisis as many students do not find employment in time to repay the loans. The default rate is increasing and the Ministry is looking for any ideas that would help students find employment upon graduation. As there is zero unemployment in the profession of osteopathy, we believe the Ontario Ministry could implement Dr Pourgol’ Dr Pourgol believes that more emphasis should be placed by the Ministry on skill based educational programs instead of subjects that have no clear immediate applicable benefit in the workplace. It is through skilled based professions that economy improves. Manufacturing is outsourced to China and information technology jobs are outsourced to India. Skilled based professions cannot be outsourced so they are an important key in developing jobs in the province of Ontario. We are glad that the Ministry has developed this forum for Dr Pourgol to discuss his ideas of improving Ontario economy through creating skilled based positions. End
