Follow on Google News | Dinnaton Swimming Club Achieves Great Success At Annual GalaThe event saw a record number of swimmers compete for Dinnaton Swimming Club. Despite half of the team competing for the first time, the team achieved great success with a total of 28 medals, including 12 gold, 11 silver and five bronze. Each swimmer achieved something to be proud of in the form of medals or personal bests. Ten-year-old Cole Haigh had an incredible start to competitive swimming after achieving gold in the 200m Backstroke, 100m Individual Medley (IM), 200m Butterfly and a bronze in the 200m IM in his second competition. George Moss, who was competing for the first time, demonstrated his potential for future competitions after securing a silver medal in the 200m Backstroke. Ella D’Cunha, one of the squad’ Aegean Bramley achieved great success after winning a total of four medals during the competition, including gold in the 800m Freestyle. Her teammate, Alex Bartlett, juggled competing with birthday parties and despite dashing in and out achieved two gold and three silver medals. After pulling out of the first weekend of competition due to injury, Quinn Jones returned after a week of rest to take gold and silver in both of his races. Also hindered by injury, Zara Smith was able to soldier on throughout the whole season which saw her perseverance rewarded with a bronze medal in the 200m Butterfly.
