KPI Music Group Partners with Shane Barrett Music, LLC

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - July 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Independent music publishing company, KPI, recently finalized a strategic partner agreement with longtime Nashville songplugging entrepreneur Shane Barrett. KPI Music Group, based in Lexington, Kentucky, employs an array of talented writers, including: famed Bomshel artist Buffy Lawson and widely respected touring artist and writer Bo Allen.  As acting A&R Director, Bo Allen is involved with the development of new artists, as well as co-managing existing writers.  Since joining KPI, Bo has collaborated with artists such as Meghan Linsey, Deborah Allen, Brian White and Anthony Smith.  Buffy Lawson is best known as the original lead singer for the group Bomshel, as well as writing songs cut by artists such as Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Bo Bice and Randy Travis.  

KPI is also partnered with several TV and Film production companies, facilitating in the creation and sync licensing of musical compositions for features, shorts, commercials and episodic web and TV series.  KPI writers also include former Forte' artist, Kwan Wilson, as well as award winning writer Brooklyn James, and newly signed Nashville artist Eldon Huff.

A 25-year veteran of the Nashville Music Industry, Shane Barrett has generated many successes in the areas of A&R and Songplugging.

During Shane’s A&R tenure at MCA Records-Nashville, he reported to the label’s then-President/Head of A&R, legendary producer Tony Brown, as well as to top Nashville producer/A&R, Mark Wright; found songs for Gary Allan (Two #1 hits), Lee Ann Womack, Reba McEntire, Rebecca Lynn Howard, and others; and was instrumental in signing both Shannon Lawson and Jessi Alexander to recording deals with MCA.

As Nashville Creative Director at ole’ Songs, Inc., Shane pitched/secured cuts by the Eli Young Band (“Crazy Girl” – #1 hit/2011 Billboard Top Country Song of the Year/2012 ACM Song of the Year), Billy Currington (#1 hit), Montgomery Gentry, and many others. Prior to that he secured hits by Faith Hill and Kenny Rogers. Some of Shane’s most recent cuts have been with Luke Bryan, Gretchen Wilson, Jo Dee Messina, and the Little River Band.

Shane Barrett has also been a longtime musician and is currently branching out into the areas of Producing, Music Publishing and Songwriting.
