By: bbr marketing A Georgia native, Darrell resides in St. Simons Island, and is a shareholder with his wife, Debbie, of their firm, Thaw and Company, PC, CPAs. Upon graduating from Valdosta State University, Darrell went to work for Mauldin and Jenkins in Macon before moving to Deloach and Co. where he met his wife Debbie, also a CPA. During his term as GSCPA Chair, Darrell will focus on key initiatives of the organization, reinforce existing projects and lead the way in establishing solutions to emerging issues of the accounting profession, including diversity. “Diversity is a challenge that has faced our profession for a while now and I am confident that our CPAs will become leaders in developing innovative ways to create more diversity in the accounting profession,” said Darrell. Outside of the office, Darrell is an avid outdoorsman. He can be found hunting, fly fishing and traveling with Debbie. He is also involved with his local community: past president of the Exchange Club of St. Simons Island, and the Federica Club. A 50-year member of the First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island, he has twice served as chairman of deacons. GSCPA is the premier professional organization for CPAs in the state of Georgia.
