Southport Marina Announces Zimmerman Marine as New Onsite Service Provider

SOUTHPORT, N.C. - July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Southport Marina is pleased to announce that Zimmerman Marine Incorporated (ZMI), a yacht repair and custom boat building yard based in Mathews, Virginia, will open as the marina’s new onsite service provider in mid-August. This will be ZMI’s fourth location.  

ZMI President Steve Zimmerman cited several reasons for the move: “Offering an ocean inlet and located directly on the ICW, Southport is a gateway for cruisers heading north or south. Many of our present customers stop there each season, and this move will provide an opportunity to meet new boat owners.”  

Zimmerman added, “Each of our service yards shares the same database, and that means the service history for each boat is available at any one of our locations, as well as the ease of talking directly to the personnel who serviced the boat. The continuity of service between multiple locations is beneficial to our customers. Southport Marina is a first class facility, and they share our focus on treating customers well and maintaining a neat, attractive facility.”

Former ZMI operations manager Steve Wallace will run the Southport yard.

Southport Marina is located at 606 W. West Street, near the entrance of the Cape Fear River on the Intracoastal Waterway at Mile 309, approximately halfway between Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
