The Honorable Jerry Patterson and George P. Bush confirmed to speak at TOWER Conference

ATLANTA - July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Houston, TX.  July 24, 2013 – The 4^th Texas Offshore Wind Energy Roundtable (TOWER) Conference, hosted by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US, Inc. and the Texas Wind Energy Clearinghouse, seeks to help industry leaders from Texas realize opportunities and obstacles by bringing some of the leading experts from Europe and the US to Houston. Conference participants can expect to be caught up on the latest developments and challenges in the Texas offshore and onshore wind market and to be able to network with some of the biggest players in the wind industry from the Gulf Coast region.

Among this year’s list of confirmed speakers is the Honorable Jerry Patterson, Commissioner of the Texas General Land Office. The Texas General Land Office governs important aspects of the use of Texas submerged lands under the Gulf of Mexico including leases for offshore wind energy activity, and the GLO also handles Coastal Zone Management duties along the Texas coast.  George P. Bush, a leading candidate to succeed Commissioner Patterson in 2015, has also confirmed to be a keynote speaker at TOWER.  The first Texas offshore wind energy project will be launched after 2017 under the leadership of the successor to Commissioner Patterson. George P. Bush is the nephew of former President George W. Bush of Dallas and the grandson of former President George H. W. Bush of Houston.
