Fort Myers Business IT Solution Provider Hires New Director of Technology

FORT MYERS, Fla. - July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Entech Computer Services, a Fort Myers business IT solutions provider, announces the hiring of Dan Long as the new Director of Technology. In this position, Dan will be implementing and enforcing standards and procedures that make it easier for Entech’s technical team to support clients. In addition, he will be collaborating with the leadership team on the designing and building of new services, attending vendor sponsored events, assessing and communicating risks, managing Entech’s physical infrastructure, managing internal applications and product integration, and working with sales team to effectively engineer projects.

“I am lucky to have been taught and mentored by several superb technical leaders and instructors,” said Dan Long. “I’ve been employed continuously in the Information Technology area for nearly 30+ years in various capacities, and am excited about now bringing my knowledge and skill set to Entech Computer Services as the Director of Technology.”

Long holds an Associate Degree from SLCC, a Baccalaureate from Columbia, and a Master’s Degree from Hodges University, all in Information Systems Management. In addition, he possesses various certifications, including A+, Network+, Project+, and CISSP.

Prior to his position with Entech, Long was involved in a number of IT projects, and has worked with a diverse set of businesses. His background includes experience in various functional areas of technology, from personal computers to mainframes, for companies as small as 10 and as large as 38,000. Long has served in roles that encompass every aspect of IT, including an Operator, Programmer, Analyst, Systems Analyst, Project Manager, Systems Programmer, Network Analyst, Network Engineer, Network Manager, Director of Infrastructure Support, and Director of Technology.

Dan’s work history includes such companies as Southern Illinois University, Madison County Government, McDonnell-Douglas, EDS, Collier County School Board, Naples Community Hospital, and Allen Systems Group (ASG).

In addition to his role as the Director of Technology at Entech, Dan currently also serves as an adjunct professor at Hodges University. When he is not working or teaching, Dan resides in Naples with his wife, Kim. In his free time he enjoys spending time at home, gardening and woodworking. He also has an extreme passion for science fiction.
