El Indio Continues To Win High Praise For San Diego Mexican Food!

With 70 years of rich history this San Diego Mexican food restaurant continues to please their customers with authentic Sonora style Mexican food.

SAN DIEGO - July 28, 2013 - PRLog -- When it comes to San Diego Mexican Food there are a wide variety of choices. You can go for the large chain restaurants, the fast food restaurants or the more traditional type restaurants. El Indio is a traditional Mexican restaurant that offers high quality, authentic Mexican food in a Mexican environment.

What’s interesting is that everyone’s taste varies and what pleases one person may not please the next. When the majority of your reviews are 4 or 5 stars though, you know you’re on the right track and pleasing the majority of people who visit your restaurant. The old saying, “You can’t please everyone!” is certainly true in the restaurant business so you strive to please the majority.

El Indio is a 3rd generation Mexican restaurant that was actually founded as a tortilla factory in 1940. Ralph Pesqueira Sr. just wanted to make tortillas for other restaurants, but soon was encouraged to start El Indio providing authentic Sonora style Mexican food. It all started when a group of factory workers kept asking him to make some lunch items. He did so by creating “taquitos” which means little taco. Taquitos are now popular in most Mexican restaurants today.

El Indio today carries on the rich traditions set out by Ralph Sr., continued by Ralph Jr. and is now managed by Jennifer Pesqueira. After 70 plus years of success you’d think that they would rest on their laurels, but not so for this family. They continue to look for ways to improve their food and to offer a true Sonora style menu. Everything at El Indio is made fresh starting with their tortillas and chips.

Not only is the restaurant popular, but their catering department is extremely popular as well. They frequently get requests to ship food to different parts of the country and other countries as well. For years they have shipped food to service men and women serving in theatres of war. They also have had requests from members of Congress to ship those same care packages to them that El Indio ships to service men and women. Maybe you can’t find good Mexican food in Washington.

El Indio offers specials throughout the year and has recently started offering daily specials as well. For Thanksgiving they offer pumpkin filled burritos and for Halloween and Valentine’s Day they design and offer colored chips. On some holidays they bring in a margarita machine to offer to those who wish to partake.

If you would like an authentic Mexican restaurant experience with authentic Mexican food, I recommend that you give El Indio a try. They are located at 3695 India St., San Diego, CA 92103. You can also visit their website at: http://www.el-indio.com/
