The Georgia Society of CPAS Announces 2013 Meritorious Service Winner

ATLANTA - July 30, 2013 - PRLog -- The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) has honored Charles Hendry with its 2013 Meritorious Service Award. This annual award recognizes individuals who have shown extraordinary dedication to the public or the profession from an accounting perspective.

With over 40 years of public accounting experience, Hendry has been active with GSCPA and its Educational Foundation on multiple levels, including serving as past president for both. During his tenures, he made commitment to the future of the CPA profession a recurring theme. His contributions have been recognized before by GSCPA; Mr. Hendry earned GSCPA’s Public Service Award for 1988.

Most notably, during his term as GSCPA’s president, Hendry saw the need to achieve excellence and strive to advocate for the CPA profession in Georgia, so he worked tirelessly to inform GSCPA’s membership and stay on top of many issues that are incredibly important to the profession.

In addition to his enduring efforts on behalf of professional organizations, Hendry has been a prominent leader in his community and church philanthropic activities including Kiwanis International, the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation and the Hamilton Healthcare System.
