Walmart Opens Hiring Center to Fill More Than 300 Jobs for New Goulds Supercenter

MIAMI - Aug. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- (Miami, FL)-- Walmart is hiring more than 300 associates to work at the new supercenter slated to open this fall in Goulds. A temporary hiring center is now open at 22137 S. Dixie Highway to assist applicants from the surrounding community with their questions about the job openings.

The hiring center will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interested applicants are encouraged to first apply online at http://careers.walmart.com (Goulds Store #5912) before coming to the hiring center.

According to store manager Eric Burgains, the store is hiring both full- and part-time associates. “We are excited about bringing Walmart to Goulds and the impact we will have in the community. In addition to helping families save money, our new store will provide more than 300 new jobs for the community,” said Burgains. “I joined Walmart in 2002 as an hourly intern and chose to make Walmart a career in 2006. Today, I serve as store manager and an example that these jobs can give associates the opportunity to build careers.”

Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates. For example, it provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

“We welcome the new Goulds Walmart supercenter and the hundreds of jobs it will bring to the residents of this neighborhood,” said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis Moss, who represents Goulds. “While Miami-Dade is coming back from the recession, there are still families who are struggling to get back on their feet. For these residents, Walmart is offering much-needed employment opportunities as well as affordable groceries and goods.”

The majority of new associates will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its grand opening.
