BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Aug. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- For the second consecutive year, staff from Carlisle Events traveled to the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds for the Bloomsburg Nationals car show.  The weekend hosted nearly 1,000 collector cars and welcomed upwards of 20,000 enthusiasts onsite.  In addition, stunt shows, a downtown parade, live music, competitions, family fun and more helped propel the family-friendly weekend.  And no Carlisle powered weekend would be complete without the always-popular swap meet and car corral.  All told, the 2013 Bloomsburg weekend delivered on a grand scale, leaving those who came to the event wanting more and making those who missed out envious.

Weekend fun commenced Thursday night with a kickoff party at the regionally popular Quaker Steak & Lube.  Beginning at 6 p.m., food and drink specials were available, plus local radio station Y106.5 FM was onsite.  Afterwards, local musician Bryel Frasch played a great array of covers through 10 p.m. to wrap the day one fun.

Doors opened Friday at 7 a.m. and despite some damp weather, the day one offerings were quite popular.  As part of the day, a Ms. Bloomsburg Nationals was crowned via onsite contesting, crowds headed downtown into the heart of Bloomsburg to enjoy the popular gridlock parade and Ricky and Harv played into the night.  In addition to the daylong fun, show cars from the region adorned the grounds and Industrial Building, providing an automotive timeline for all onsite to see.

Saturday welcomed back many of those same cars, plus droves more.  In addition, the sunshine was the star of the day and the rest of the weekend for that matter.  With great weather all day, thousands of patrons walked the grounds to see the cars, shop within the swap meet and car corral, plus enjoy the great food that the fairgrounds is known for.   Saturday also hosted the burnout competition, muffler rap and slow drags, while Quaker Steak & Lube returned to the grounds to host a wing eating competition.  Saturday concluded with a thrilling stunt show from Tonny Petersen's Hell Drivers and a three-hour set from Flamin' Dick and the Hotrods.

Day three of Bloomsburg weekend was a day to catch up, reminisce and enjoy all that the weekend offered.  The morning welcomed a non-denominational church service and saw a great turnout for the afternoon awards parade.  In addition, more live music was featured on the stage courtesy of Autumn's Golden Oldies.  Sunday also offered the chance for guests at Bloomsburg to take part in a Q&A session with Carlisle Events staff and ownership.  Finally, swap meet and car corral enthusiasts had one last chance to look for and make deals with vendors.

With the 2013 event a wrap, plans are already in place for 2014.  The third annual Bloomsburg Nationals powered by Carlisle Events returns to the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds August 8-10, 2014.  Registration is open now for invitational consideration as well as for those interested in swap or vendor spaces.
