PRLog -- Laurel D. Rund, local artist and author of “Emerging Voices” will be exhibiting her unique and inspirational artwork for the month of September at Solo Gallery, Arts Council Manatee County - 926 12th Street West, Bradenton, Fl. Opening night is September 6
th from 6-9 pm at the Village of the Arts “First Friday Artwalk.” “My work is called ‘Art from the Heart’ which is a poem from my soul,” states Laurel. “In 2009, a life-changing event transformed me into the woman I am today. Never could I have imagined that the death of my husband of 42 years would take me on a journey through loss and grief to a redefined sense of self. Death, an unexpected teacher, was the catalyst of my metamorphosis. The slow and painful healing process unfolded my creativity, and the ‘Essence of Laurel’ was born. At times I mix paint in a cup or pick up a piece of chalk and apply it to canvas or paper; at other times I use color from a digital web palette.
