Aug. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- The Center for Metal Arts is looking for capable, bright, self-motivated teens who may not necessarily fit into the traditional education model.  The staff at the Center for Metal Arts has designed this introductory program for high school students who want to explore alternative career possibilities and who have an interest in working with their hands. The session will include some live demonstrations of blacksmithing along with an introduction to the forge, anvil, hammers and other tools. Under the guidance of a professional blacksmith, students will have some hands-on activities and will experience the atmosphere of a working forge.

The session includes a mid-day lunch with Q & A time to talk with working metal artists about their careers and what it is like to work in a a metal arts studio. Students can be recommended by their high school staff, or by a parent. Advance registration for this one-day event can be done online at http://centerformetalarts.com/Pages/UpcomingSeminars.html....
