TOLEDO, Ohio - Aug. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- For the first time in Lucas County, Steve Taylor of the Taylor Automotive Family will be awarding one exceptional senior a brand new 2014 KIA Forte.  A Lucas County high school student’s name will be chosen among a list of high achieving seniors as part of the Taylor Automotive Family’s Driven to Succeed program.

Established in 2009, Taylor Automotive’s Driven to Succeed program was created to reward Perrysburg High School students who strive for excellence in their senior year.  After four successful years with Perrysburg High School, Mr. Taylor decided to expand the program to all 28 high schools in Lucas County.  Mr. Taylor believes that our entire community benefits by honoring and promoting good student behavior, academic excellence, participation in extracurricular activities, and exemplary attendance.  ”We think it’s important to give back to our community and help motivate students to achieve academic excellence and get involved and connected to the Toledo area," Mr. Taylor said.  “The encouragement of positive actions will enable students to commit and strive towards achievable goals in their senior year, future careers, and personal lives.”

Every student in their senior year attending a participating school in Lucas County is able to qualify for this exciting program.  Students are able to receive multiple entries based on the following criteria:  each "A" received per quarter, each sport and/or extracurricular activity they are involved in, and teacher recommendations.  Submissions are deducted for excessive days absent and the student must be clear of disciplinary issues.

The 2014 KIA Forte will be given away at an awards ceremony at 5/3 Field in June of 2014.  Each school will have a number of finalists invited to attend the event, where numerous runner-up prizes will be awarded along with the brand new Taylor KIA Forte.

With the automotive group having expanded to the Findlay and Lima areas, Mr. Taylor felt it was important to give back to the Allen and Hancock Counties as well.  Twenty-two schools from the southern counties have been invited to participate in their own Driven to Succeed program, where another 2014 KIA Forte will be awarded to one lucky senior next spring.  "We want to be involved in and fully committed to the success of our community," Mr. Taylor said. "We are locally owned and locally committed.”

Driven to Succeed is one of the many endeavors between the Taylor Automotive Family and the local community.  Every year, the Taylor Automotive Family strives to live by their mantra “Locally Owned, Locally Committed”, by being proud sponsors of various undertakings including the Toledo Zoo, Books for Buddies, Music Under the Stars, Imagination Station, Toledo’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Exclaim!, Children’s Miracle Network, Jr. League of Toledo, Toys For Tots, Taste of the Nation, Toledo Children’s Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Toledo Symphony, Red, White Kaboom 4th of July Fireworks, LPGA Marathon Classic,  and the Toledo Museum of Art.
