The exclusive L.A. revival of Larry Kramer’s timeless call to action “The Normal Heart”

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The Fountain Theatre presents the exclusive Los Angeles revival of the iconic American play about a nation in denial (2011 Tony Award for “Best Revival” on Broadway). Not seen in L.A. for 16 years, playwright Larry Kramer's masterwork is an unflinching, totally unforgettable look at sexual politics during the AIDS crisis and remains one of the theater’s most powerful evenings ever. Fueled by love, anger, hope and pride, a circle of friends struggle to contain the mysterious disease ravaging New York's gay community. Dismissed by politicians, frustrated by doctors and fighting with each other, their differences could tear them apart – or change the world. Hailed by critics as “riveting” (Newsday) and “a great night at the theater” (The New York Times), The Normal Heart is even more relevant today than when it first premiered.

The Normal Heart opens on Saturday, Sept, 21, with performances Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 8 p.m. and Sundays @ 2 p.m, through Nov. 3 (dark Thurs., Oct. 31). Preview performances take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, Thursday, Sept. 19 and Friday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $34 (reserved seating), except previews which are $20. On Thursdays and Fridays only, seniors over 65 and students with ID are $25. The Fountain Theatre is located at 5060 Fountain Avenue (at Normandie) in Los Angeles.
