Westchester Tech Venture Group Formed In Rye

RYE, N.Y. - Aug. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- RYE, NY—Westfair Tech Ventures, a “Tech Meetup” group has been organized by local serial entrepreneur John Arenas, CEO of Serendipity Labs, to provide a monthly forum offering support, resources and guidance for the area’s emerging technology firms. 

The group will meet at Serendipity Labs in Rye every third Thursday, starting September 19.  Within two weeks of forming, leaders from over 50 companies or technology ventures have joined the group.

John P. Arenas, Chief Executive Officer of Serendipity Labs and the host for Westfair Tech Ventures said, “Technology ventures face unique challenges for capital formation, talent recruitment and costs of operation in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. We aim to foster a community that celebrates innovation and recognizes the risks that pioneering, emerging growth company leaders face in creating value and high quality employment here.”

The kick-off event will be held on September 19^th, where the group will hear about readiness for capital raising from top venture experts.  The speakers for the kick-off event will be Michael Crossey, partner of the law firm Baer Crossey, a business and technology law group that delivers next-generation counsel for innovative early stage companies as well as larger corporate clients, and Danny Schultz, managing director of New York City -based Gotham Ventures. Gotham Ventures, which invests in early-stage information tech start-ups is part of DFJ Network, the largest venture capital network in the world.
