Sept. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Neighboring Mexico’s historically most violent border city, El Paso transforms into a celebration of dance and music when Ms. Lisa Skaf, artistic director of El Paso City Ballet, showcases classical ballet favorites performed by world-class dancers in “Gala Gala” on September 28th at the celebrated Plaza Theater.

“Ballet emerges as a symbol for peace and progress”, says Director Skaf, who has worked tirelessly with the Mexican consulate to introduce arts and culture near the border town of Juarez.  Dancers come from Mexico’s National Ballet of Mexico, Florida, and California to present exquisite classics such as “Swan Lake”, “Coppelia”, “Le Corsaire” and “Don Quixote”, plus a world premiere contemporary piece under development.

“We are so proud to welcome this stunning ballet troupe of international stars to our fine city of El Paso. The arts provide the very basis for collaboration with border cities,” says Director Skaf. El Paso City Ballet continues to develop a full ballet season for audiences to enjoy.

Tickets are on sale starting at $22 with senior, military and student discounts by calling the Plaza Theater Box Office (800-745-3000) or through Ticketmaster.  For more information please contact Lisa Skaf (915-204-0482).
