OAF Magazine - Vol. 1, September 2013 - Launch

ILKESTON, U.K. - Sept. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Titled the ‘Rebirth Issue’, the magazine presents an exciting mixture of music, fashion, culture and photography in a newer, sleeker and more elegant format.

OAF’s layout has been amended and improved to give the reader a more visual rewarding experience. With 48 pages packed full of the latest music, fashion, culture topics and over 17 pages dedicated to photography and showcasing local, promising talents, OAF Magazine Vol. 1 remains different to any magazine available on newsstands today.

Drenge, Maths Time Joy, Fern, and a fashion shoot by Millie Hunt are just some of the names and features in this issue, alongside an excluisve story from former gang member Duro Oye.

Particular attention is given to local talents, such as the talented Ilkeston-based illustrator Nathan Knowles, who was responsible for the exclusive cover for the issue.

OAF Magazine Vol. 1 is available now in selected lifestyle and retail stores across Derby and Nottingham for free. The magazine is also available to the rest of the United Kingdom for £1.99 via Big Cartel. OAF Magazine is an independent magazine founded by 25 year-old Ashley Allen and is based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. The magazine was launched in 2012 under the name of Avenue Magazine. They wanted to create a magazine that is different to other mainstream ‘student culture’ titles.

“The whole magazine is just dope", said Danielle Garner - owner of Dat Tag Clothing -  when describing the issue.

“The aim is to be different and as visually powerful as possible, that’s why we have cut out all the fancy fonts and colours and stripped it back to black and white,” says OAF founder and editor Ashley Allen.

OAF’s site, www.thisisoaf.co.uk, has become an important reference for trend setters and people aged 18 - 25 years old who are interested in counter culture. It attracts on average 14,000 visitors per month.
