ST. GEORGE, Utah - Sept. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Mary Jo McMillen, Executive Director Talks about Recovery Days

Mary Jo has over 27 years in long-term recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. She is a Licensed Substance Use Disorder Counselor with 23 years experience working in the addiction treatment field in Utah. In 2006, she participated in a grass-roots group effort to establish USARA as a non-profit organization and was a founding board member.

Mary Jo is passionate about building partnerships to grow the recovery community in Utah and nationally. She is proud to say that her greatest gifts have been a life in recovery and the love and support she receives from her family, many friends, peers and colleagues to be of service.

Utah Recovery Day

During the month of September, USARA and a variety of recovery community organizations Web BannerSquare host Recovery Day celebrations throughout the state of Utah. This is in honor of National Recovery Month. National Recovery Month (Recovery Month) is a national observance that educates Americans on the fact that addiction treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy and rewarding life.

Recovery Day events are a community celebration for individuals, families, friends and agencies supporting Recovery from Substance Abuse. Recovery Day events include free activities such as local speakers, a 5K Run/Walk, live music, free food, treats, prizes and fun activities for young children.
