The engine is backed by a built-in lithium-ion battery, and the Fit Hybrid can get up to a speed of 31 mph for 1.9 miles in pure electric mode.

The Fit will use Honda’s Earth Dreams technology, which is technology that improves fuel efficiency while reducing Honda’s environmental footprint. These new engines are known for creating a better driving experience and increasing fuel economy by 10-percent. Eventually, Honda would like to see this engine in all the brand’s cars.

You won’t find the Fit Hybrid in the United States, but Honda is working on a subcompact sedan and crossover that takes elements from the Fit hybrid to give Americans a reliable car with similar technology for the first time.
