Scion FR-S Named Seventh Best Summer Car Available Under $30,000

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - Sept. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- If affordability and performance don't usually go hand-in-hand, the 2013 Scion FR-S is the exception to the rule, according to AutoGuide.com. The automotive news and review site included the new FR-S sports coupe in its list of "Top 10 Cars for Summer Under $30,000," besting the likes of the Volkswagen GTI and the Mazdaspeed3.

Available for an MSRP of $25,800 for the six-speed automatic transmission model, the 2013 FR-S earned a spot on the list largely because of its precise and sporty handling and sophisticated interior, which now includes available upholstered leather seats. In addition, the editors at AutoGuide.com also pointed to how popular the sports car is among young drivers as one of its top attributes. Beginning with the 2014 model, all new FR-S models will come standard with a touchscreen audio system that includes Bluetooth and audio connectivity, among other capabilities.

Judging by recent Scion sales figures, AutoGuide.com's designation for the 2013 FR-S appears to be on the mark. Through July, Scion sold more new FR-S models, at 11,635 units, than any other vehicle in its lineup. A total of 1,614 FR-S units flew off lots nationwide in July, the highest of any Scion model after the tC.
