By: Surtec, Inc. The proper disposal of concrete cutting, coring, grinding and polishing residue is serious business, here’s a legal and economical solution. Due to ever growing environmental regulations, concrete contractors of all sizes are rightfully concerned with the compliant disposal of their waste product. Surtec announces Slurry.Sep™ and Slurry.Dry™ an economical solution to concrete slurry-waste management for concrete contractors. The system separates water from slurry for effective recycling or disposal, and in most cases, further solidifies remaining waste to a complaint disposal material. Dry concrete grinding may soon be a thing of the past. In 2012 Cal/OSHA reclassified Silica Dust a Class 1 Carcinogen, this means that it is classified at the same level as Asbestos! Dry concrete grinding, without proper vacuuming containment, exposes workers to harmful Silica Dust and puts that dust into the environment. Wet concrete slurry is considered hazardous waste. Slurry waste is not legal to dispose of down a sanitary sewer, or to be dumped in a sanitary waste site. It must be properly separated and meet certain specifications to be considered legal to dispose of by standard means (sanitary sewers and dumpsters). STEP ONE: Slurry.Sep™ STEP TWO: Slurry.Dry™ ### If you’d like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with Bill Fields, contact Cheryl Sanders at 800 877 6330 x 214 or email csanders@surtecsystem.com Surtec, Inc., founded in 1975, specializes in developing, manufacturing and distributing cleaning and coating products, as well as equipment used primarily in building maintenance and many other cleaning applications.
