By: Law Offices of Mahir S. Nisar, P.C. News 12 reported that Sam Miller, of Brooklyn is fighting to get his children out of the foster care system and back home where they belong; Miller is alleging that his 2-year-old-daughter is the victim of child abuse at the hands of her foster mother. In June of 2013, Sam Miller’s four young children, ages one through five, were removed from his custody after his one-year-old son of fell out of the family’s second story apartment’s fire escape in Brooklyn. Fortunately, the child was unharmed as he was caught by Joe Torre’s daughter, who happened to be walking by outside at the time of the fall. After the incident, all four of Miller’s children were removed from his home by the city’s Administration for Children’s Services where they were later brought to a foster home located in Freeport. On Tuesday, August 13th, Miller’s 2-year-old daughter was hospitalized with second-degree burns on her bottom after being scalded by hot water in a bathtub while in foster care. According to Nassau police, they determined that the bathtub incident was accidental. However, Sam Miller has hired New York attorney Mahir S. Nisar to represent him in the case. Miller’s attorney says that he plans to file a lawsuit against the foster mother, the Administration for Children’s Services and any other agency involved in the screening process, and in the placement and protection of Miller’s four young children. Her father, Sam Miller says he’s going to do everything within his power to bring his kids home where they need to be.
