A Benefit to Bring Awareness and Raise Money to Combat Sex Trafficking and Heal Lives through The Restorative Justice Center

Sept. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA---The Restorative Justice Center of Atlanta is excited to announce their partnership with the "I Am Not Yours!" campaign to host the first annual "Diamond on the Half Shell" Benefit on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the beautiful Atlanta City Hall Atrium from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The benefit will be hosted by WABE 90.1 FM's Rose Scott and six time NAACP Award-winning actress and "I Am Not Yours!" spokesperson, Jasmine Guy. The "Diamond on the Half Shell" benefit will feature an evening of an exclusive runway show by a guest celebrity fashion designer, while raising funds to change lives of sex trafficking victims.

As a non-profit partner of the City of Atlanta Community Court, The Restorative Justice Center's mission is to raise awareness, develop resources, and provide advocacy to enhance and expand court programs that improve outcomes and restorative solutions for offenders, victims, and the larger community. "The ‘Diamond on the Half Shell' Benefit was created to raise funds for women who are in our city jails. Our goal is to provide creative reparative options to help end the cycle of prostitution through mental health, medical and/or substance abuse treatment," Board President, Vanessa Hickey-Gales stated.

The "I Am Not Yours!" campaign, founded by Mona Stephen and actress Jasmine Guy provides financial support to assist organizations throughout the United States who are charged with eliminating child sex trafficking of young girls and women. "It is painfully clear that many of the women that are helped through the Restorative Justice Center were victims as children...so this collaboration is perfect for both organizations", states Stephen. "We are supportive of what the Restorative Justice Center has been able to do with their organization in Atlanta, and we are proud to be joining them to bring awareness to innocent victims affected by this crime."

The "Diamond on The Half Shell" benefit promises to be an elegant evening of exclusive designer fashion, complimentary cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and community bonding while fighting the cause and keeping the city of Atlanta healthy and vibrant. In addition, three awards will be presented to heroes who continue to work tirelessly to raise awareness and meet the needs of these women.

The Restorative Justice Center of Atlanta and the "I Am Not Yours!" campaign will host a press conference at Atlanta City Hall on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Atlanta City Council President Caesar C.
