WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Sept. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Special needs girls ages 7-14 are encouraged to strut their stuff and enter a  beauty pageant hosted by ITS Academy of Beauty and the Peter Hantz Company. The event will be part of many festivities at the 2013 Educational Forum.

Applications are available at ITS Academy of Beauty, 1101 Melbourne St. in Northeast Mall in Hurst. Thirty girls will be chosen to compete. The pageant will be held Sunday, Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. at the Will Rogers Memorial in the Center Round Up Inn, 3401 West Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth, Texas. The pageant will include a casual attire and formal attire competition. Registration is free.

“The beauty pageant will be a win/win for everyone concerned,” said Margie Wisniski, vice president of operations. “It will give our cosmetology students hands-on experience working at a pageant, as well as providing a unique opportunity for special needs girls.”

The Educational Forum also includes instructional seminars, a wide variety of leading vendors in beauty supplies and products, as well as the forum’s signature event - a student hair show and contest.  Headlining the event this year is celebrity stylist Martin Parson.

Forum coordinators Jessica Wolman, Jerry Johnson and Margie Wisniski invite leading artists and industry leaders to showcase their latest trends in hair, skin and makeup, on and off stage, to some of the top cosmetology students in the U.S.  On stage demonstrations and training slots are available for $100 for a 30-minute slot. Booths are $600 for both days.

Vendor participation is limited and conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.  Registration and information is available online at http://www.eduforum.co/.

Wolman said that show exhibitors are also welcome to donate prizes for the competitions.  Past winners have received publicity in trade publications, as well as features in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas media.

In addition to the cosmetology school in the Fort Worth area the company owns ITS Academy of Beauty schools in the Wichita Falls and El Paso, Texas, as well as Lawton, Oklahoma. Out of state schools include International Academy of Hair Design in Arizona, Olympian University in New Mexico and Hair Benders Academy in Florida.

For more information about the pageant contact the Hurst school in Hurst at 817-284-8465. To be connected to a school in your area call 1-877-275-4442.
