Red Sails Inn Continues Its National Appeal

When you have more than 50 years as a San Diego seafood restaurant and continue to grow your appeal nationally, you know you're dong something right.

SAN DIEGO - Sept. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- This San Diego seafood restaurant continues to win national appeal with unsolicited promo spots on a variety of programs. Add to that their recognition last month on San Diego’s list of legendary restaurants in San Diego and it isn’t hard to see why this popular restaurant continues to draw praise.

So far this year Red Sails Inn has won awards for:

The Readers Choice Award

· Gold medal for Breakfast

· Silver medal for dinner

· Silver medal for patio dining

· Silver medal for steaks

· Silver medal for best bar

It’s no wonder that TV promo spots are taking a hard look at this very popular restaurant located on Shelter Island in the Point Loma area of San Diego. For more than 50 years and 2 generations of management Red Sails Inn continues to delight its customers.

After years of success with a popular menu of seafood and breakfast, Bill Dargitz decided to offer more comfort food items for those that aren’t seafood fans. That resulted in an award for best steaks from customers. In addition he added locally brewed beers and won a silver medal for best bar. Wow! What’s next?

When I sat down with Bill and asked why he was adding to the menu and expanding the bar his answer was simple. He said,” In this business you have to continue to add some variety, especially recognizing that not everyone is a fan of seafood or bottled beer. You listen to your customers and act accordingly.” When you have a history of success of more than 50 years, it’s hard to argue with that.

Being located on Shelter Island offers patrons an opportunity to walk along the bay or go to Cabrillo National Monument. Point Loma is a wonderful place to just explore, no matter what you like to do. A walk along the bay gives you views of Coronado Island and the naval air base and occasionally you can watch as one of the navy ships heads out to see on deployment. Sometimes you may see a commercial ship loaded with containers either coming in or going out. It’s all part of world trade that happens here in San Diego.

There are also wonderful hotels on Shelter Island including the very well-known Humphrey’s By the Bay with concerts and nightly entertainment in the lounge. They have a great dance floor that is usually packed, but still fun to dance if you want.

All and all you can’t go wrong by visiting Shelter Island in general and Red Sails Inn in particular. You can enjoy great food and great outdoors activities or entertainment at night. For more information on Red Sails Inn visit: http://www.theredsails.com/
