Follow on Google News | General Motors Donates Chevrolet Camaro & a Cruze to Cerritos College Automotive Technology ProgramGeneral Motors (GM) donated a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze to the Cerritos College Automotive Technology program.
Cerritos College Automotive Technology Program offers certificates, degrees and special programs in automotive repair, collision repair, alternative fuels, smog training, advanced transportation technology and automotive management. The GM Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) program is a two-year automotive program designed to upgrade the technical competency and professionalism of the dealership technician. The curriculum is designed by General Motors and Cerritos College, and leads to an Associate Degree. The GM ASEP program prepares students for the workforce by providing classroom and hands-on instruction as well paid on-the-job training. "We are fortunate to receive two more Global Architecture vehicles from General Motors. These vehicles communicate on a faster data network compared to previous GM vehicles,” said Cerritos College Automotive Instructor, Joe Mulleary. “The GM ASEP students will now be able to get hands-on practice using the new GDS 2 software for diagnosis in conjunction with a wireless interface that plugs into the vehicle. This new system is required in order to communicate with the new electrical systems and is used for diagnosis purposes.” The next GM program at Cerritos College starts October, 2014.
