Chicago Recycling Company is Awarded Company of the Year

CHICAGO - Sept. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- B.L. Duke was named this year’s AWMI (http://www.awmi.org/) Company of the Year.  Over the year, B.L. Duke has been involved with the Chicago Chapter through attendance at monthly meetings, volunteerism, event sponsorship, and most recently, had one of their very own, Shannon Evoy, appointed to the Chicago Chapter Board. Shannon Evoy was also named AWMI’s Volunteer of the Year.

Being recognized for the company’s commitment to women has been particularly rewarding to B.L. Duke’s owner and President, Lou Plucinski (http://www.blduke.com/).  "I am inspired by my mother who was a successful executive in the metal industry.  I’m proud that today over half of B.L. Duke’s management and sales team are women," states Plucinski.   B.L. Duke will continue its involvement with the AWMI to support women not only within their organization but also within the industry.

The AWMI hosted their 30^th Annual Industry Dinner and Awards Banquet on September 26, 2013 at the Hyatt McCormick Place. After the awards banquet, John Ferriola, President & CEO of Nucor Corporation (http://www.nucor.com/) presented keynote address “Reviving the Metals Industries”.  Ferriola also currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Steel Manufacturers Association and is on the Board of Directors of the American Iron & Steel Institute. ‘
