Immigration Update: South Australia plans to Open Market for Overseas Skilled Workers

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Oct. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- The South Australia State Government has announced changes that will streamline its migration scheme as an effort to simplify the process for recruiting skilled employees from abroad, reports Nair & Co., leading provider of Global HR services (http://www.nair-co.com/global-hr-services.aspx) for companies expanding overseas.

The Government has recently reviewed the way employers accessed the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS). This study was part of the recently completed 90-day Immigration South Australia change programme designed to increase participation in national initiatives and attract permanent, skilled and business migrants.

Employers are permitted to hire skilled workers from abroad only if they are unable to source appropriate labour in the local market.

The new RSMS application process will help employers save processing time and attract more skilled workers.

Highlights of the changes to the RSMS:

*  Exemption from labour market testing (in certain situations).
