Follow on Google News | New Model 7339 Automatic Backup Switch Designed for Critical Network AppsThe Model 7339 increases data throughput reliability by continually sensing for data on ports A and B. If activity is lost on A, the unit checks for data on B and if data is present, the unit switches to B.
When in automatic fallback mode, the unit monitors data activity on ports A and B. If activity is lost on A, the unit checks for data on Port B and in the presence of data, switches to position B. The Model 7339 data switch maintains its connection to port B until data activity is detected on port A, at which time the unit will automatically return to the A position. If no data is present on either port A or on port B, the unit will stay in the A position and continue to monitor for data. The user can override automatic fallback operation from the front panel or GUI interface and operate the Model 7339 as an A/B switch. The switch can be controlled from a 10/100 Base-T LAN Ethernet environment. Remote control Telnet command interface or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) allow the user to control the switch position, lockout the front panel operations and obtain switch status. The switch ports are transparent to all data. All pins of the RJ45 interface are switched. The switch interface meets CAT5e performance. All switched signals are passed via latching copper contact relays that maintain their position and continuity in the event of a power loss. Front panel LED’s display switch position, the switch mode (automatic fallback or manual) and power status. The port connectors include (3) RJ45 (F) connectors labeled A, B and COMMON. The front panel controls include a manual pushbutton that allows local switching. The display includes (2) front-panel LEDs that indicate switch position and power status. For remote control (1) RJ45 (F) connector on the rear panel accepts 10/100 Base-T LAN Access Ethernet and Graphical User Interface (GUI). The Model 7339 is configured in a slim rackmount design. The dimensions are 19” W x 1.75” H x 10” D (48.3 x 4.4 x 25.4 cm). The switch weighs approximately 5.5 lbs (2.49 Kg). A Wide Range Power Module, Catalog No. 521895, makes this switch ideal for worldwide applications. The module is CE and UL listed. The unit is configured as a table mount configuration. This module supports 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz operation. The unit has an IEC 60320 C14 inlet.
