Oct. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- London (October 3, 2013) – According to a survey conducted by the FIMA conference’s research team, 80% of reference data managers feel that sharing data between departments internally is ‘Hard’and requires considerable manual effort for each sharing task’ while 73% claim their firm’s counterparty data is less than 90% accurate.

FIMA (http://www.wbresearch.com/luxuryinteractive/home.aspx) is an annual conference held in London and produced by global research and conference company, Worldwide Business Research (http://www.wbresearch.com/), also based in London. This year, the FIMA conference will take place on November 6th-7th at the QEII Conference Centre in Westminster, London.

This study was conducted across July and August 2013 and received 53 responses from leading financial reference data professionals. It was designed to offer a potential industry benchmark, looking into areas including their current challenges through to their annual spend and what business drivers they are contributing towards.

Overall, the results of this study confirm that there is still a lack of consistency with regards to effective data management across industry, but that definitive strides are being made toward eliminating silos, improving accuracy of data flow, sharing data across the organization and more.
