Legacy Counseling Center kicks off 25 Year Anniversary with major donation from Forest Park Medical

DALLAS - Oct. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- DALLAS -- From the single mother taking care of her children to the homeless individual living on the streets, Legacy Counseling Center has continued to serve its diverse population of individuals living with and suffering from HIV/AIDS for the past 25 years in North Texas through affordable and quality mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, and housing assistance.

Since 1989, Legacy has followed the vast improvements in medical treatment and knowledge surrounding this life altering disease, while also recognizing the way we still have to go. Today, Legacy has grown to serve 650 plus individuals through individual, couples, family, and group counseling, 24-hour emergency on-call services, minority outreach, women’s programs through the Grace Project, hospice-styled care at Legacy Founders Cottage, housing referral program through Homebase for Housing, Master Leasing Program, and intensive outpatient program, supportive outpatient program and aftercare groups for substance abuse treatment.

In order to celebrate this achievement and continued service to North Texas, Forest Park Medical Center has generously pledged a grant in the amount of $25,000 to Legacy Counseling Center to celebrate 25 years of service. In honor of this, Forest Park Medical Center will be hosting a kick off party on Sunday, October 20^th from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at the Palomar Hotel, where a check will be presented to Legacy Counseling Center. This marks the beginning of a yearlong partnership between the two groups.
