VALPARAISO, Ind. - Oct. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Visitors to Team Chevrolet in Valparaiso, IN (http://www.teamchevyinc.com/valparaiso-premier-chevy) often ask about the latest news concerning the Silverado. As one of the most venerable full-sized pickup trucks on the market, the Silverado has its share of fans among drivers who need to tackle tough jobs on a regular basis, so it’s understandable that there would be curiosity about the next edition. Fortunately, Chevrolet has recently revealed the 2015 Silverado HD models, and they look to improve upon a winning formula.

Many drivers will be thrilled to learn that the 2015 Silverado HD models — that is, the Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD — will offer best-in-class payload and conventional towing capacities. That means that, when properly equipped, these trucks can handle a payload of 7,374 pounds and can tow as much as 19,600 pounds. With a fifth-wheel connection, maximum towing capacity rises to a stunning 23,200 pounds.

Drivers who choose a 2015 Silverado HD will have the choice of two engines:

   •       A 6.0L gas-powered V8 that produces 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. In 3500 HD models, it makes 322 hp. This engine comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

   •      A 6.6L Duramax diesel engine makes 397 hp and a shocking 765 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired with a six-speed Allison 1000 automatic transmission.

The new Silverado HD models also sport a number of aerodynamic enhancements, as well as enhanced engine cooling. The latter comes courtesy of aerodynamically optimized ducts and improved front-end sealing.

The interior of these heavy-duty trucks has also been improved from previous iterations. Triple-sealed doors reduce noise, while there are also a number of high-tech features, including Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system, which is standard on most models. Extended cab models now feature forward-hinged doors, while all models boast improved interior space. The dashboard, meanwhile, has been designed to place towing-specific controls within easy reach, including the available trailer brake controller.

Drivers throughout Indiana can expect to find the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD models at Team Chevrolet in early 2014. Conveniently located at 1856 W. U.S. 30 (http://www.teamchevyinc.com/DrivingDirections) in Valparaiso, Team Chevrolet serves drivers from Merrillville, Crown Point, Portage, and the surrounding communities.
