Chicago Swedish Fraternal Organization Announces Websites Expansion

CHICAGO - Oct. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Austin Lodge is one of the more than 300 Vasa Order of America Lodges in Chicago and Canada, and is known for leading the way in promoting Scandinavian History and Culture.

For most of the past 100 years, the promotion of Scandinavian Culture and History was limited to Vasa Order lodge meetings, special events at Scandinavian American Parks, and special occassions such as Lucia Fests.

In 2011, however, Austin Lodge took a bold step into the future by expanding the promotion of Scandinavian Culture and History using the internet and New Media outreaches.

The first step was the establishment of a new website, nordicchicago.com which is a treasure trove of information regarding Scandinavian History and Culture

The site contains much information and links regarding each Scandinavian Nation.Thee are many links to articles on Scandinavian Traditon and Culture, Nordic Folk Music, travel and tourism.

The site also features many videos including Swedish American History and Austin Lodge's flagship 30 minute online TV broadcast Nordic Chicago

In 2012, Austin Lodge in partnership with the Sunlite Broadcasting Network launched the firs Swedish American Television Network, an online entrerprise featuring over 500 videos to date about Scandinavian Culture and History, plus many music videos as well.
