By: H.O.M.E. http://www.homebarchicago.com/ History of Tantric Tantric was formed back in 1999, when former Days of the New band members Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest, and Matt Taul joined up with Hugo Ferreira. The group signed with Maverick Records in 2000 and, by 2001, released their self-titled debut album Tantric.Originally debuting at No. 193 on the Billboard 200, the album eventually went platinum. Tantric’s hit “Breakdown” Four additional albums have been released since the self-titled debut. After We Go, which debuted at No. 56 on the Billboard 200, was released in 2004 and featured singles such as “Hey Now”, “After We Go”, and “The Chain.” Tantric’s third album, The End Begins, was released in April 2008 and included hit single “Down and Out” that saw strong success on the radio. In August 2009 Mind Control became the fourth album to be released. Earlier this year the fifth and most recent album 37 Channels was released. It should be noted that the only member of Tantric to take part in the release of all five of the band’s albums is Hugo Ferriera.
