Sheffield Students' Union reaches record high visitors after installing digital signage

BLACKBURN, U.K. - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Sheffield Students’ Union hit a record high number of visitors last week after installing 20 digital signage screens.

55,000 visitors attended events which took place in the Union during ‘Intro Week’, and the new venues, Foundry, Studio & Fusion also saw a record attendance. This is where the http://www.digitalsignage.net software has been put in place.

Primarily the decision to replace traditional poster frames with digital signage was based on the flexibility of the software, in terms of being able to show video, moving images, bar prices and posters all at once. One Digital Media was responsible for the systems’ install – a network of seven players with the 20 screens.

Chris Howett, Marketing Manager at Sheffield student union, said: “We looked at lots of systems and all of them are fundamentally capable of the same things. What stood digitalsinage.net apart was its simplicity. We don’t need to fly to the moon with the systems we use, we need to easily programme our posters and advertising schedule on the screens we have.”

Chris aims to update the screens once a week, but can easily access them more often if he decides he wants them to be updated more regularly.  He added “It’s far more compelling than a traditional poster frame!”
