North Texas video game expert part of upcoming documentary film

DENTON, Texas - Oct. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- A 32-year veteran of video game battles is featured in an upcoming documentary film about the history of Nintendo, and he lives right here in North Texas.

Patrick Scott Patterson, who makes his living talking about video games to a large social media audience and at live events across the country, is featured in the first trailer for 'The NES Club', which is due for a 2014 release.

Patterson, also known by his gaming handle OriginalPSP, started gaming in 1981 when he encountered a Pac-Man machine in his hometown of Garland.  He then started on a journey that continues to this day.  In 1990, Patterson made it to the semi-finals of the first stop of the Nintendo World Championships, held in the automotive building in Fair Park.

Today, OriginalPSP has hung up the competitive gloves and produces video game based content to a mainstream pop culture audience.  He recently appeared on WFAA Channel 8 to provide a counter opinion to a psychology expert after the launch of 'Grand Theft Auto V' and earlier this week broke the story of a Chicago woman who just set a world record on an arcade video game.  The story went international, noted by MSN and Fox News among others.

"It's all about breaking stereotypes," Patterson said.  "Video gaming today IS pop culture.  The influence of video games can be seen in our films, television programs and sporing events today as the first generations of video game fans have grown up and continue to game."
