By: Diani And Devine Productions https://www.youtube.com/ Groener and Shimerman are set to appear in the apocalypse comedy alongside their real life wives Dawn Didawick and Kitty Swink as members of the mysterious “Muskrat Lodge” if the film makes its goal of $100,000 on Kickstarter. “Armin and Harry are two of the best actors we know with distinguished resumes as long as their arms,” Diani said, “It’s a gift they allowed us to make this goofy video with them.” Groener and Shimerman are among a number of genre actors who are lending their talents to the film and Kickstarter campaign, including Golden Globe and Tony award-winning cult icon Barry Bostwick (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Spin City) and Janet Varney (Legend of Korra, Burning Love). The video of Varney dressed as the character she voices in the anime show Legend of Korra has already gotten 25,000+ views on Youtube. The videos are a part of a unique Kickstarter strategy by Diani and Devine to release at least one new video a day during the campaign.“This is an ambitious campaign and it’s not news to have a Kickstarter anymore,” Devine said, “We knew that if we were going to get noticed we needed to do something big.” “Diani & Devine Meet The Apocalypse” is the story of a struggling comedy duo (Diani & Devine playing themselves) who discover that surviving the apocalypse is almost as difficult as surviving Hollywood. Gabriel Diani and Etta Devine are award-winning actors, writers, and comedians who are often compared with classic comedy teams like Nichols and May and Burns and Allen. They have performed at comedy festivals all over the country, raised over $30,000 on Kickstarter to replace the “N-word” with “Robot” in Mark Twain’s “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” and garnered over 1.3 million hits on their web series Mary Olson. Gabe wrote, produced, and starred in the horror comedy feature film THE SELLING which played at over 30 film festivals, was in the Top 10 of About.com’s Best Horror Movies of 2012, and received rave reviews from The Huffington Post, Ain’t It Cool News, and FilmThreat. Co-produced by and co-starring Etta, the film is available on DVD/VOD and through Fearnet On Demand. You can see their sizzle reel here. https://www.youtube.com/ End
