Follow on Google News | Many Unanswered Questions as Businesses and Money Flow to NV in Search of Medical MarijuanaBy: Ariel Clark Law Ariel Clark of Ariel Clark Law, a prominent attorney specializing in medical marijuana law in California, Nevada and other medical marijuana states, cautions Nevada state officials and investors that promises of big money is no sure thing. “There is sure to be money pouring in (to Nevada), but one of the key questions will be can patient counts support the process,” said Clark, a corporate attorney based in California and expert on medical marijuana law. “How many cards will be issued? How many weeks will it take to get a card? And these are just a few questions that need to be answered as the state develops the licensing approval process.” Clark encourages Nevada to “revamp the process” for issuing medical marijuana cards. Currently, the state uses a two-step process that can take more than 30 days before a card can be issued. “My recommendation would be for state officials to eliminate one of the steps to make the process more efficient,’’ said Clark. Nevada is required to devise regulations for medical marijuana businesses by April 2014 and could have them before the end of the year.
