Follow on Google News | Katie Green Joins Clark Nexsen in Norfolk as a Bridge Engineer, EITBy: Clark Nexsen Katie’s design experience includes new design (prestressed concrete bridges, concrete cantilevered retaining walls, anchored soldier piles and lagging retaining walls) and design of retrofits for existing structures. Her analysis experience includes load ratings for a simple span timber pedestrian bridge in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and a historic pin-connected Pratt-truss bridge in Cecil County, Maryland. She has completed the National Highway Institute training for Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges, Underwater Bridge Inspection, and Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges. As part of the 2009 Bridge Inspection Cycle for Baltimore City, Maryland, Katie performed hands-on inspections of more than 20 bridges and culverts, ranging in size and material type. She has additional experience with drafting, preparation of quantities and cost estimates, preparation of specifications, and coordination with other engineering disciplines. Katie holds both a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
