Wes Parker Joins Clark Nexsen in Norfolk as a Transportation Engineer, EIT

NORFOLK, Va. - Nov. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Clark Nexsen, an established leader in providing integrated design services, is pleased to announce that Wes Parker has joined Clark Nexsen’s Norfolk office as a Transportation Engineer, EIT. He has more than six years of experience as a project engineer and project task manager in preliminary engineering focused on roadway safety studies; hydraulic design; traffic signal/ITS design; urban and rural roadway design; and maintenance of traffic plans. His previous experience includes working with clients from the Virginia Department of Transportation, City of Virginia Beach, City of Suffolk, City of Newport News, City of Norfolk, and the County of Hanover.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Transportation Engineering from Old Dominion University, where he previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Minor in Engineering Management. Wes received the Thompson Award at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Virginia Student Conference in 2007.

Wes is a member of the Virginia Section Institute of Transportation Engineers (http://www.vasite.org/). He was a presenter at the 2012 STEM Career Conference for the City of Virginia Beach Public Schools and has presented to the American Public Works Association (APWA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter, the Virginia Section Institute of Transportation Engineers, and to the Southern District Institute of Transportation Engineers.
