A strong agenda and an impressive number of confirmed high-caliber speakers, delegates, sponsors and supporters, have made the Summit consolidate its position as the leading event in Lebanon and the East Mediterranean for 2013. In its second edition, the LIOG 2013 Summit will take place on 4 and 5 December 2013 in the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut. It will be held under the patronage of the Lebanese Ministry of Energy and Water and in collaboration with the Petroleum Administration Lebanon. LIOG 2013 has also attracted the support of major international and national organizations. It has earned the support and endorsement of the International Gas Union (IGU), a worldwide organization promoting the progress of the natural gas industry around the globe. Locally, the summit is being supported by the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, along with other organizations. In addition to high ranking officials and executives from public and private sectors, the summit will host oil and gas exploration and production companies along with a wide range of service and logistics companies. Those include drilling and well management companies; pipelines manufacturers and suppliers; engineering, construction and maintenance companies; banks, law firms and telecommunications companies; as well as environment, health, and safety (EHS) consultants, on the ground service suppliers, training companies and recruitment specialists. Renno said, “It is a fact that Lebanon’s oil and gas sector is developing.We can feel the interest of the local and international companies in this emerging sector, where vast business opportunities are being made available.” Experts expect that many international medium-sized companies will launch operations in Lebanon to support offshore operating companies immediately after the closure of the first bid round. Those companies in turn will need to deal with suppliers and service providers, bringing along additional opportunities to Lebanese businesses, manufacturers and investors.
