By: Health Collectors, LLC The Brown's practice what they preach about healthy eating and exercise. Dr. Brown lost 75 pounds, and Semaj lost 120 pounds by eating the savory vegetarian dishes that Semaj created and later published in her book, Feasts and Fables from The Planted Kingdom: A Story Cookbook. "The delicious and healthy meals she prepared for me--changing my dining habits from fast food to whole food, coupled with exercise, was life-changing, states Dr. Brown. My wife Semaj changed my diet and saved my life." The Brown's created two unique radio shows which engaged their audience to call-in live. "Ask Dr. Brown" aired on Gospel WFLT station and "The Dr. James Brown Freedom From Fat" radio broadcast was aired on the Cumulus station WCK, both out of Flint, Michigan. "When the Cravings Come" was a popular segment, as was the segment "What's for Dinner Mrs. Brown?" The later segment evolved from researched nutritional information, to Semaj developing characters from the vegetables she prepared, and giving life to recipes she created. Her talent as a poet and spoken word artist connected to the Browns' radio audience, with people calling the radio station clamoring for the recipes. The characters Blanche BroccoliTM, and The GreenoidsTM had become rock stars in the vegetable world, and Tornado Soup had its own fable. The "Onion Revolt", the one-woman show performed by Semaj Brown, was birthed during the radio show, and now it is the vision of the Brown's to expand their vehicle of healthy living edutainment to other communities across the country. A colleague and friend has decided to host the one-woman show in their home on November 21, 2013 to a select audience of influencers, to gain support for their upcoming theatrical production scheduled for April, 2014 at the F.A. Bower Theater in Flint, Michigan. "We're looking forward to a sold-out crowd with the assistance of local groups using the tickets as fundraisers. Sponsors are welcomed too, as our vision suggests that we uplft vegetable consciousness and a healthy lifestyle across the country", says Semaj Brown.
