TFC to Hold Live Telethon Fundraiser for Sagip Kapamilya in U.S. & Canada on November 13-14

Dubbed "Magkasama Tayo sa Kuwento ng Pagbangon", telethon to raise funds for Typhoon Haiyan victims in the Philippines
 
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Nov. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- ABS-CBN International's The Filipino Channel (TFC) in U.S. and Canada and ABS-CBN Foundation International take its relief efforts a big step further for victims of the devastating Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in the Philippines by holding "Magkasama Tayo sa Kuwento ng Pagbangon" - a Sagip Kapamilya Telethon LIVE ON TFC from its Redwood City, California Headquarters on November 13 & 14.

The telethon will start at 3:40pm Pacific (6:40pm Eastern). Viewers may call 1-877-992-2429..

Al digital subscribers can watch the telethon and special news coverage on Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) on TFC at no additional cost till November 15.  International Media Distribution (IMD), which distributes TFC, announced the list of the participating cable operators:

* Astound Broadband

* AT&T U-verse

* Bright House Networks

* Comcast’s Xfinity TV (TFC is not available in all markets)

* Cox Communications (TFC is not available in all markets)

* Frontier Communications

* Hawaiian Telcom

* RCN

* Time Warner Cable (TFC is not available in all markets)

* Verizon FiOS TV

* Wave Broadband

In Canada, the following carriage parftners of TFC have also agreed to open their signal to non-TFC subscribers at no additional cost till November 17:

* Shaw Cable (Channel 509) - for Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia

* Bell Fibe (Channel 859) - for Ontario

* Telus Optik TV (Channel 513) - for Alberta and British Columbia

FREE PHONE CALLS

IMD also announced that the following partners are offering free phone calls to the Philippines:

Beginning immediately, Hawaiian Telcom is offering all of its residential home phone customers free phone calls to the Philippines through November 30,, 2013. For customers with Hawaiian Telcom Long Distance service, calls placed to the Philippines going back to November 8th, 2013, will not be charged.  Customers who do not have Hawaiian Telcom as their international long distance provider may call 643-0929 to designate Hawaiian Telcom, at no cost, then begin free calling to the Philippines.  Customers should go to hawaiiantel.com/Philippines for the terms and restrictions applicable to this program.

Comcast is also allowing free calls to the Philippines to land lines and mobile phones from November 8-22. They'll credit customers who have already placed calls starting November 8.

Verizon FiOS is also offering free phone calls to the Philippines today through December 7th.

In Canada, Telus has also agreed to provide home phone owners free long distance calls to the Philippines from November 8 – 14, 2013.

BARANGAY BILLBOARD

TFC's on-air event calendar and online community event hub, Barangay Billboard, announced it will help promote all efforts by non-profit organizations, churches, schools and business corporations in the community to raise funds for victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
