By: Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort “The Ride Local Card is ideal for the guest who isn’t ready to commit to a season pass, yet wants spontaneity and flexibility with his or her ski and snowboarding plans,” said Dan Hooper, LVSSR’s director of skier/rider services. “We are very focused on developing products and programs that address the unique nature of the Las Vegas market, and that encourage people to take advantage of the outdoors whenever their schedules allow.” Ride Local cardholders receive two free weeks of skiing/riding December 9 – 15 and again the last week of the season. LVSSR is currently slated to close Sunday, April 6, 2014 though that date is weather dependent. Another such product is the area’s popular Get Started program, designed for the beginner skier or snowboarder who is over the age of 13. The program runs in January 2014 and an enrollment fee of $199 includes four days of lessons, rentals and lift tickets. Upon completion of the program, students receive an unrestricted full season pass that is valid for the remainder of the season. "Get Started eliminates the stress that can sometimes accompany the first-time snow experience. It offers our guests the chance to be guided through the process, from their first time trying on boots to understanding what to wear,” said Maria Jose Norero, LVSSR’s director of marketing. Also back by popular demand is LVSSR’s full season ski or snowboard rental package program. For $149, guests receive skis or a board, boots and poles for skiers.
